Today the students really seemed to enjoy mixing candy canes with water in one dish and then with a pop in the other dish to see what would happen. The children came up with some great ideas about what they thought would happen...
“The colours will go into the water”
“The pop will be stinky”
“The candy canes will explode”
“The candy canes will turn brown”
“The candy canes will melt away”
“The wAter will change colour”
After mixing the candy canes in the liquid, the students worked on a drawing of what they thought would happen to the candy canes. Great work everyone!
When we came back from lunch we were excited to see that the candy canes in both dishes had completely disappeared.
