This morning the students worked together in groups of two or three to problem solve our Morning Message, which had many missing pieces. We purposely grouped an SK Leader with a JK friend to help the SK's develop their leadership skills and the JK' s to follow by example. We are working a lot on leadership and teamwork skills, as being able to problem solve and collaborate together is an important skill to have for future learning centres. Any extra practice your child can get with naming and recognizing letters, sounding out the sounds each letter makes, as well as exploring sight words and beginner books would be beneficial to the development of your child's Love of Reading!
Starfall.com is a great literacy based website that the students have been exploring on our class computers.
