Fine Motor Skills

Today the children worked on tracing the shape of a groundhog onto a paper of their own and then cutting it out to decorate. We are working hard everyday developing our fine motor development through activities where we are printing, colouring, tracing and cutting. Cutting is a skill that we have noticed many to still have a difficult time with. Remembering to grip the scissors, keeping their thumb up, with their elbow bent and close to their body, while using their other hand to hold and turn their paper is something that we practice every time we cut. Any extra practice at home would be beneficial to your child. Keep up the good work!
