Sorting

Today we introduced two new ares to our students. The first area is the sorting table, the children are invited to come and use different attributes to help sort the buttons. A few of our SK boys tested it out this afternoon. We placed some key words to help get them started. 

We also introduced a light table for the children to use. They are very exited to explore his new centre! 

Happy Mother's Day!

We want to wish everyone a great Mother's Day weekend! The children all have a special surprise for you in their bags. Please let it out before it gets too squished. Today we read Tea for Ruby by Sarah Ferguson The Duchess Of York, which is a super cute story all about manners, especially while eating with the 'Queen'. The children were all very excited about this book, as most of them said they may be going out with their moms this weekend for Mother's Day. By the end of the book they had all decided that Mom was Queen this weekend and that they would remember how to use their manners while eating with the 'Queen'. Have a great weekend!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Yoga!

We are always excited to explore yoga! It's a great way for us to stretch and learn at the same time. This specific yoga session uses the story of the hungry caterpillar to discuss eating healthy. Cosmic kids is a great tool for introducing yoga to children! 

School Quilt

Today we had a great opportunity to be creative and join the rest of the school in completing a school quilt. Each child was able to design and colour their own piece of the quilt. The quilt will be displayed in the Walidcat hallways! 

The Grouchy Ladybug

Keeping up with our sequencing books we introduced, The a Grouchy Ladybug". We asked the students if they think they would be a friendly or grouchy ladybug. 

But Mom...

This week we read the book But Mom by Tony Stead. This is a great book about all of those things that parents make us do that maybe we don't want to, like eating our vegetables and going to bed. While discussing the feelings in this book, our students went into a discussion about all of the great things that moms do for us. Here is a picture of all of their answers. Enjoy your weekend!

Cookies Week!

This week we are focusing again on sequencing using the days of the week. The students have been doing a great job recalling our story:

Today we asked the students to go home tonight and think what Cookie will do on Sunday, will she rest or will she get into more mischief? We will share our ideas tomorrow!
