Fun in the Snow!

Today the children seemed so excited to see some snow! Hopefully we get a little more throughout the night so that they can build with it tomorrow. Here's a few pictures that I got today...

Spitfire Assembly

Today our school was very lucky to have a visit from one of the Windsor Spitfires! The children and I all went to the assembly and had a great time, watching our very own Mr. Bull play goalie against a real-life Spitfire! He even managed to block a few shots! Great listening today Boys and Girls!

Read Aloud

Today I introduced a non-fiction book to the students titled The Rescue of Nanoose. The students were so interested in the idea of this being a real story that we didn't even read it! We had a very nice discussion about the difference between salt water and fresh water, where whales live, and why a whale would need to be rescued. We did look through the book (did a picture walk) and were amazed at how real the pictures looked. I asked the children to think tonight about why Nanoose the Whale would need to be rescued so we can talk about it tomorrow before we read the actual story. Great work today!

 

 

 

Race Car Challenge

Today we started our Race Car Challenge, where we race our cars along the measuring tape to see who goes farther. We talked about lots of great words today, like farther, in front, behind, longer, shorter, and ahead when exploring which Car had gone the farthest. I told the children that we would have more races tomorrow, and if they had their own small car that they wanted to bring they could. I have lots of small cars that can be used if you don't have one that you want to bring, but I know lots of the children were excited to bring their own. Great work today! Can't wait to race some more!

 

 

 

 

Welcome Back!

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

Today went great! The children all seemed very excited to see each other. We had a great day of sharing stories and exploring toys. Please note that Pita Pit lunch originally scheduled for tomorrow (for those who ordered) has been moved to Wednesday due to possible bad weather. Have a nice night!
